Last Thursday, Enrichment Circle held its annual Baby Shower to benefit First Coast Women’s Services.  FCWS’s primary mission is to save the lives of unborn babies through Christian counseling, medical pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, educational and material support, such as teaching parenting skills, relationship skills, financial help and advice.  They also provide support in the areas of adoption and abortion healing.  In addition, they provide a call center and six offices around northeast Florida offering help in every area to moms and dads who lack knowledge and/or finances to bring a new baby into the world.  Lakewood is a long-time supporter of FCWS through our Baby Bottle Collection in the fall and by donation of items through Enrichment Circle’s annual Baby Shower in the spring.  Note some of the items donated this year—adorable summer outfits & pajamas, diapers, baby blankets, and an array of paraphernalia for newborns to one-year-old.   Over the past many years that Lakewood has partnered with FCWS, we have donated $46,000+ via the baby bottle campaign and hundreds of dollars more in every type of baby supply one could need at this special baby shower as you can see in the accompanying picture.  Just the $46,000 alone saved 39 babies’ lives.  We are so grateful to those of you who have faithfully supported these two efforts annually.  As individuals, there are also numerous ways we can volunteer so please contact Ruth Bailey or FCWS info@fcws.orgor (904)549-6100 for more information.
