It is with mixed emotions that the Staff-Parish Team announces the retirement of Bill Shuck, which will become effective July 31st of this year. While we are so happy for Bill, he will be missed on campus on a regular basis.
We all know that Bill is a beloved fixture at Lakewood so it is our hope that, when he does retire, Lakewood will remain his home church. You may remember we recently recognized Bill during Pastor/Staff Appreciation Sunday for 30 years of service to Lakewood! During those years, Bill has worn many hats and today, he continues to serve Lakewood often wearing many hats, but most specifically right now, he will continue to oversee Young At Hearts activities, participate in Visitation, and put out any fires that occur on Sundays during the time the congregation is on campus for Sunday services. Of course, we know he is always a phone call away from helping Lakewood with any need. That is Bill’s heart! Be assured that we will be honoring Bill more fully for his years of service when as we get closer to his retirement date.
